Previous loose wet avalanches observed throughout the range. Northwesterly 55 km/h but gale 75 km/h in exposed places, easing to southwesterly 35 km/h in the morning, and to light in the afternoon.   Wind at 2000 metres Gale northwesterly 85 km/h, easing to southwesterly 40 km/h in the morning, and to light in the afternoon.   Freezing level 1500 metres, lifting to 1800 metres in the morning, then lowering to 1500 metres in the afternoon. Crampons and Ice axe are recommended at all times as conditions can change rapidly. Surfaces could be very hard, especially in the morning.

The recent storm snow is settling and bonding with warm temperatures and solar radiation. The storm snow overlies a typical spring snowpack on polar aspects above 1700m. On solar aspects there is no base with the storm snow rapidly melting on the warm ground.
