Be prepared, you could be surprised of hard icy snow below 1600 m. Caution required in and around steep terrain.

The warming trend continued yesterday with loose wet activity on N facing aspects. Polar aspects remaining cold. Expect a light crust on sunny aspects after another frosty night. Start zones and steep entries are places where any remaining loose snow will be forming wind-slab conditions today. Gale strength winds forecast as an active front approaches our region. Remember, many hidden hazards sit just below a thin snowpack.
