AVYCAST
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Avycast mobile application and related services (together, "the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Avycast is an independently developed avalanche bulletin application. For questions about these Terms, contact support@avycast.app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Avycast. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
You may browse avalanche bulletins and use the slope evaluator as a guest without creating an account. Guest access is limited: you may switch your active region once per cooldown period, and features such as favorites require a registered account.
If you create a registered account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Registered free users may switch regions a limited number of times per cooldown period. Notify us immediately at support@avycast.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
Avycast offers an optional auto-renewing monthly subscription that unlocks premium features including unlimited region switching and favorites. Subscriptions are sold and processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
The information provided in Avycast is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice.
Avalanche bulletins shown in the app are retrieved from official regional warning services. Those services publish their forecasts in good faith, but conditions in the backcountry can change rapidly, local variations can be significant, and any forecast is inherently uncertain.
Avycast and its developer make no warranty — express or implied — about the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of the information shown in the app.
You assume full responsibility for any decisions you make based on information from Avycast. Before entering avalanche terrain, you should complete formal avalanche safety training, carry appropriate rescue equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe), travel with experienced partners, cross-reference multiple sources including the issuing warning service's own channels, and always defer to your own on-site assessment.
Avycast is not a substitute for professional avalanche education, certified mountain guides, or your own judgement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from use of or reliance on the Service.
You agree not to:
The Avycast name, logo, interface, and original content are the property of the developer. Avalanche bulletins and forecast data remain the property of the respective issuing services (EAWS, NZAA, CAIC, Avalanche Canada, and others) and are used with attribution under the terms under which they are published.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or for any other reasonable cause.
You can delete your Avycast account at any time directly from within the app: open Settings in the app, tap Delete Account, and confirm. This permanently removes your account and all personal data associated with it (favorite regions, profile, authentication records) from our servers. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
If you are unable to access the in-app flow for any reason, you may alternatively email support@avycast.app from the address associated with your account and we will delete it within 30 days.
Important: deleting your account does not cancel an active Apple subscription. To stop billing, you must also cancel the subscription from your Apple ID Account Settings (see the Support page).
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
