Yesterday (4th), there was a report of a block collapse observed from a glide crack. As of 5:00, the temperature at AMeDAS Fujiwara was 8°C with 8.5 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours. At an elevation of around 1,300 m, the temperature was 8.5°C. The Maebashi District Meteorological Observatory of the Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts that high pressure will move eastward over the East China Sea, but that atmospheric conditions will become unstable in the afternoon due to daytime temperature increases and a pressure trough, so it will be cloudy and sometimes sunny, with rain and thunderstorms in some areas from midday, and temperatures will rise to 20°C at the foot of the mountains.

At higher elevations, 5-10 cm of wind-driven snowfall is on the ground, but bonding is good, and crusts are being blown away and exposed in windy areas. The melt-freeze cycle, which melts during the day and freezes at night, is progressing, and the snow cover surface layer is gaining strength. Bonding in the middle to lower layers of the snowpack is good, but rainfall and rising temperatures are causing significant glide movement.
