The publication of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Avalanche Bulletin ends today and will resume next winter, tentatively in early December. In the coming period, any “Information Notes” will be published to provide updates on snow and weather conditions in our region. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses.

Tendency: Danger remaining constant

The weather will be cloudy.

The danger of wet avalanches will increase during the day. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls, and in gullies and bowls. Individual wet and gliding avalanches are possible.

Snow cover is absent or patchy in many areas, up to the highest altitudes on the southern slopes; in general, the snowpack is increasingly thinning. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good. The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the snowpack on shady slopes.
