Pay special attention to accumulations on slopes steeper than 35°, in the middle zone and especially in the alpine sector, where critical thicknesses could be found after the last snowfall. In mid-mountain, and particularly on north-facing slopes or in gullies near rocks, consider the effect of the sun and the increase in temperature towards the end of the storm. Be alert to recent signs of instability, such as local collapses, cracks, or whumpfing. Carefully plan the itinerary.
